Seafood firm China Marine Food Group has seen rising quarterly sales boost profits by almost a quarter.

The company, which makes a range of snacks and frozen food, booked a 16.5% rise in third-quarter revenue to US$13.4m for the three months to the end of September.

Net income climbed 24.5% to $3.2m as China Marine spread its reach throughout western Chinese provinces like Chongqing.

“Growth during the third quarter benefited from an expanded distribution network and solid profit margins in both our business segments yielded measurable improvements in our profitability,” said CEO Pengfei Liu.
