US-based Central Valley Meat is to acquire fellow California business Harris Farms’ beef operations, it has announced.
Central Valley, which owns the beef product business CLW Foods, will take over Harris Ranch Beef and its subsidiaries, Harris Feeding Company and Harris Ranch Beef Company. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Under the agreement, Harris Ranch Beef and Central Valley Meat Company will operate independently, with both companies retaining their respective brands.
Harris Farms owner John Harris said: “The Central Valley has long served as the home of some of the finest beef sold around the world. Today’s announcement cements a future for two family-owned beef operations to continue to thrive.”
Dave Wood, chairman of the Harris Ranch Beef operations, added: “We are pleased to work with [Central Valley CEO} Brian [Coelho] and we look forward to each company’s continued success.”
Central Valley Meat Company is a family-owned meat processor, founded in 1993 and based in Hanford, California. The operation’s focus is on supplying beef to both domestic and international markets.
