Canada’s biggest Asian supermarket chain just got bigger. T&T Supermarket, which focuses on providing a range of Asian foods using a western approach to supermarket management, opened its first supermarket in Richmond, British Columbia in 1993.
It has now opened a 45,000 square foot store in Toronto – the 11th in the chain – and plans to open an even larger store (65,000 square feet) later this year in the town of Milliken, just outside Toronto.
Toronto is home to approximately half a million residents of Chinese descent. The new stores will be serviced by an eastern regional office scheduled to open this month, with an adjoining warehouse.
