Peter Skene has resigned as CEO of dairy group Australian Dairy Nutritionals (AHF) with immediate effect to pursue other interests.

Skene, who has been with the Victoria-based business for 14 years, will, however, continue to work with the company for up to three months to assist in the transition to a new CEO.

In a statement announcing the resignation today (17 June) to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), AHF said it is “well progressed” in recruitment of a new CEO and will provide a further update to the market in line with its continuous disclosure obligations.

Reflecting on Skene’s tenure at the head of the company, AHF chair Peter Nathan said: “The board thanks Peter for his huge commitment to Australian Dairy Nutritionals and his pivotal and pioneering role in building the business for more than a decade.

“We wish him all the best in his future endeavours. As we navigate through this transition, we want to assure our stakeholders that the board remains committed to the success of AHF.”

Skene has been CEO of the business since July 2016.

In April this year, Bernard Kavanagh resigned as chair of AHF for personal reasons with Skene taking on an additional role by replacing him as interim chair.

In an ASX statement in May, AHF said it was taking steps to increase the independence of the board.

Nathan, formerly CEO of the Asia-Pacific region at the A2 Milk Co., replaced Skene as chair of the company in June.

AHF is a vertically-integrated business owning dairy farms as well as a processing facility located in south-west Victoria.

It produces the Ocean Road Dairies Organic A2 infant-formula range at its facility in Camperdown.

Under a strategic business focus announced in late 2022, the company
ceased production of fresh milk at the Camperdown site, opting instead to hone resources on infant formula and other dairy nutritionals such as milk powders.
