Melbourne-based supermarket group Foodland Associated revealed earlier today [Wednesday] that it plans to buy out Western Australia-based Foodlink Food Services in a deal worth A$18m (US$9.8m) plus inventory.
Foodland MD Trevor Coates explained that his company would be better able to serve customers throughout Western Australia after a merger with the food service business, which has annual turnover of about A$34.7m.
Settlement of the deal is expected later this month.
