Arla Foods is expanding the range of protein-heavy products it sells in the UK, with a move into the cheese category.
The European dairy giant is launching Arla Protein Cottage Cheese, a product it says contains 20g of protein per serving, which the cooperative measures at 165g.
“Arla Protein Cottage Cheese, which is made with all naturally sourced ingredients, is a versatile ingredient that allows consumers to easily add protein to their diet,” Arla Protein brand manager Steph Barker said.
Per 165 serving, the cheese has 2.5g of fat, of which 1.8g saturates. It has 6.9g of carbohydrates and 5.5g of sugars.
Arla first moved to tap into UK consumer interest in protein by launching Arla Protein yoghurt in early 2015. The first addition to the range was in April of that year with the launch of a dairy drink under the Arla Protein brand.
In March this year, Arla rolled out an Arla Protein “snack pot”, which are 200g pots of yoghurt with separate tops filled with nuts and seeds.
