France-based smoked trout supplier Aqualande has appointed Philippe Darthenucq as chief executive and chairman of the group on a temporary basis.

Darthenucq will take on the CEO duties until the end of the year, following which Stéphane Dargelas will assume the position on the 1 January, according to a statement sent to just-food. Darthenucq is the former managing director of Labeyrie’s subsidiary Delpierre.

Dargelas is the sales and marketing director at the company, in which French frozen food supplier Labeyrie Fine Foods owns a 50% stake, but he is being promoted to deputy managing director of the group.

In other appointments, Eric Lacastle will become Aqualande’s finance chief, while Emmanuel Mazeiraud, who is presently the director of the firm’s aquaculture sector, is promoted to deputy general manager of the group, overseeing livestock farming and fresh and marine water.

An Aqualande spokesperson told just-food that the company’s previous CEO was “removed” in February having joined the firm last April. A name was not provided.

As well as France, Aqualande has production facilities in Spain and also ships trout eggs to Japan and the US.
