Canadian frozen desserts maker CoolBrands International has announced that it has entered into four new brand licences for new frozen snacks that it intends to distribute in the US in 2005.

The new brands licensed to CoolBrands for the frozen snacks category include Care Bears, the Justice League (including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman), No Pudge!, and Snapple.
The company, which this week reported higher full-year earnings, said it also plans to add five independent directors and new corporate governance initiatives.
CoolBrands said its board of directors will establish a committee of independent directors to conduct a full review of the company’s corporate governance practices and to make recommendations to the board regarding these practices.
