Simply Fit’s founders will continue to manage the business under the Around Noon umbrella and will remain shareholders in the company, according to a statement.

Gareth Chambers, the CEO of Around Noon, said: “This acquisition will provide us with a foothold in a new and fast-growing segment of the market. There is a fantastic synergy between the two companies and the opportunity to cross-sell between our respective client bases.

“Luke and Evelyn have created a strong brand and their business shares a very similar ethos to Around Noon as a company that is passionate about healthy food and about serving its customers.”

Around Noon, headquartered in the city of Newry, Northern Ireland, was established in 1989 and has four manufacturing sites, one of which is based in Slough near London. Since its founding, the business has expanded with the acquisition of London-based sandwiches and snacks maker Chef in a Box in 2017, and the purchase of bakery firm Sweet Things in Dublin the year before.

The deal price for Simply Fit was not disclosed but Around Noon plans to “invest substantially in a refresh of its brand and product range”.

Simply Fit’s founders added: “We have watched Around Noon make a real impact in the food-to-go-space across the UK and Ireland. It’s a great coming together of two very complementary businesses and we are incredibly excited about the opportunity.”
