Chocolate bars and other products containing nuts or tree nuts will be prohibited for sale in vending machines in public school elementary schools in Guelph, Canada.
According to the Guelph Tribune, the change is one of the ways in which a policy to protect children suffering from severe allergies to nuts was strengthened last week by the Upper Grand District School Board.
The board policy is to strive for more equal treatment of allergy-threatened children at all schools.
