United Biscuits has announced the launch of two products as part of a relaunch of its McVitie's breakfast biscuit range in the UK.

McVitie’s Breakfast Oaty Breaks, made with porridge oats, are available in two flavours: Golden Syrup and Raisin & Cinnamon.

McVitie’s Breakfast Fruit & Oat Bakes are wheat-meal and oat biscuits with a fruit filling. They are available in apple and blueberry flavours.

Brand director Kerry Owens said: "Modern and busy lifestyles continue to put pressure on our day with 55% of us eating breakfast biscuits on the go, so it’s important to start the day with a tasty and satisfying breakfast. Consumers are increasingly looking for alternative options for a wholesome breakfast on-the-go."

The Breakfast Oaty Breaks are available at an RSP of GBP2.29 (US$3.60) and the Breakfast Fruit & Oat Bakes are available at an RSP of GBP1.99.

United Biscuits, owned by Turkey's Yildiz Holding, is competing with the likes of Mondelez International's Belvita brand in the UK breakfast biscuit market.
