Tyson Foods announced plans to expand its poultry production plant in Robards to meet "growing demand" for Tyson branded chicken sold at retail nationwide.

The US$8m investment will install a new freezer and additional workstations. The move will create 90 jobs, Tyson said.

"This investment will help us meet growing demand for our products," said Noel White, president of poultry for Tyson Foods.

The Robards plant produces individually quick frozen chicken packaged under the Tyson brand for sale to retail customers, Tyson revealed. The facility currently employs about 1,200 people.
