Kellogg is appealing a decision by Russia’s Federal Tax Service to collect RUB90m (US$2.2m) in tax arrears.
Russian Legal Information Agency, RAPSI, said Kellogg filed an appeal with the court in which it said the collection of the sum, or a suspension of its accounts until a ruling was made, could “hinder or even stop its operation”.
Speaking to just-food today, a spokesperson for Kellogg’s European arm confirmed the appeal but declined to comment further. “Kellogg Russia is currently appealing a decision made by the Russian Federal Tax Service. We have no further comment to make at this time.”
