French dairy group Candia has named former Bakkavor and Bonduelle executive Giampaolo Schiratti as its new CEO.
Candia, owned by French dairy co-operative Sodiaal, said Schiratti would replace Maxime Vandoni, who is leaving the business to take charge of an unnamed French company.
Sodiaal CEO Frederic Rostand said Schiratti would “bring his experience of management in the food industry to meet the challenges this important part of our co-operative faces”.
Schiratti, who has had stints at food manufacturers including Bakkavor, Bonduelle and Uniq, has most recently spent time at private-equity firm Agro Invest.
He joined Agro Invest in August after over a year as MD of the food business of co-op Euralis.
Schiratti’s CV includes four years as CEO and then general manager of French convenience food firm Marie between 2006 and 2010. He was at Marie when the company was sold by UK firm Uniq to French poultry group LDC in 2009.
