US food group Hormel Foods has enlisted DKSH, the import, sales and marketing agency in Asia, to help expand it in the region.

DKSH will provide support in areas including imports and distribution for the Spam maker in six markets.

The two companies will work together in markets like Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia.

“We are confident that by partnering with DKSH, one of the region’s leading market expansion services companies, we will be able to rapidly increase our footprint in Asia,” James Snee, president of Hormel’s international business, said.

In the year to 28 October, Hormel said operating profit from its international markets increased 38%. Sales were up 7%. The company’s business in China “continued to improve” in the last 12 months, Hormel said.
