Frozen food firm Iglo Group has appointed Elio Leoni Sceti as its chief executive.

Sceti, chairman of technology firm Zeebox, will take up the role from 23 May. He succeeds Martin Glenn who announced his departure from the group in January after six years at the helm.

Sceti has over 20 years of experience in the FMCG and media sectors, having served as CEO of EMI Music until 2010. Prior to this, he had an international career in marketing and held senior leadership roles at Procter & Gamble and Reckitt Benckiser.

Interim chief executive Erhard Schoewel will revert back to his position as non-executive chairman, the company said.

“The Iglo Group Board believes that the frozen food category has huge potential for significant growth and to this end has agreed to invest in the business at record levels,” said Schoewel. “We believe Elio’s experience and track record will lead Iglo Group to realise its growth ambitions in existing and new markets.”

Sceti said he is looking forward to working with the team to “build on the company’s strong position and finding exciting new avenues for growth”.
