The world’s largest food maker Nestle is investing CHF29m (US$925,092) in new distribution facilities in Russia in a bid to strengthen its supply chain in the country.
Nestle said it will extend the distribution centre at its Vorsino manufacturing site in Kaluga to better serve consumers across Russia and other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. The centre will deliver a range of the firm’s products from infant nutrition, cereal and dry grocery items to pet food and coffee.
“We are taking an important step to strengthen our supply chain in Russia,” said Maurizio Patarnello, CEO of Nestlé Russia. “We believe in Russia’s long-term potential, which is why we continue to invest in the development of local facilities.
