Hain Celestial has hired Stephen Smith, the CFO of beauty group Elizabeth Arden, as its new finance chief.
Smith will join the US food group after 12 years at Elzabeth Arden in September. Current CFO Ira Lamel is retiring from the role at the end of August. Lamel has been lined up for a role as “special advisor” to president and CEO Irwin Simon.
“Steve has an extensive background in working with consumer products companies on a global basis and brings a demonstrated ability to implement business analytics for high-performance strategic growth,” Simon said.
Shares in Hain Celestial jumped in after-hours trading in New York yesterday after the company reported an 11% increase in fourth-quarter profits and issued forecasts for the new financial year that were above analyst expectations.
