Noble Foods has appointed ABP Food Group executive Andrew Cracknell to the post of CEO, replacing Peter Thornton.

Cracknell’s 20-year ABP career has taken in a variety of positions, including operational experience when he served as general manager of the group’s Ellesmere plant. Most recently, Cracknell was commercial and board director for ABP Food Group’s UK arm, where he is responsible for all business units supplying fresh and frozen beef products across the retail sector.

Thornton has served as Noble CEO for five years and announced his intention to stand down in order to spend more time with his family. He will continue on at Noble as a non executive director, as well as taking on a role as chairman of Gü and Noble Foods Inc, the firm’s US business. Both of these businesses will continue to report directly into Thornton.
