Associated British Foods’ Australian subsidiary George Weston Foods (GWF) has appointed Andrew Reeves as its new chief executive.
The company announced today (7 February) that he will begin his role in April, replacing the group’s previous CEO Geoff Starr.
GWF said that Reeves has over 28 years of experience in the Australian and New Zealand food industries, with over 28 year in senior roles with companies including Lion Nathan and Coca-Cola Amatil.
Reeves was most recently managing director of National Foods, a Lion Nathan subsidiary, where GWF said he was a “driving force in transforming their sales and marketing capability, with a strong focus on the consumer and delivering through effective partnerships”.
ABF chief executive George Weston said: “After an intensive global search, we’re delighted to have secured an executive of Andrew’s calibre to lead GWF’s next stage of evolution in the dynamic and increasingly competitive markets in which our diverse businesses operate.”
Until Reeves takes up his role in April, ABF has appointed its CEO of UK grocery, Sarah Arrowsmith, as interim chief executive of GWF, reporting to Weston.
