US food irradiation technology company Surebeam has said it will further delay the release of its second-quarter results because of an accounting review.

San Diego-based Surebeam, which announced in July that an accounting review would delay the release of its earnings, had planned to release them today [Tuesday], but said its accountant, Deloitte & Touche, had not completed its analysis.


Surebeam, which makes technology to kill food-borne bacteria such as E. coli and listeria, said it plans to file for an extension with securities regulators, reported Reuters.
