US-based organic dairy producer Horizon has added a fat-free line to its range of organic milk fortified with DHA Omega-3.

Horizon, part of US dairy giant Dean Foods, said Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 would mean its namesake brand would be the only organic milk brand to offer a fat-free milk product with DHA Omega-3.

The company said that DHA Omega-3 is a long-chain omega 3 fatty acid that has been shown in a number of scientific studies to be important in supporting the brain, heart and eyes.

All of Horizon Organic Milk Plus DHS Omega-3 products are produced with Martek Biosciences’ life’sDHA, a vegetarian and sustainable source of plant-based DHA.

Horizon Organic Fat-Free Milk Plus DHA Omega-3 is now available in supermarkets and natural food stores in the US at a SRP of US$4.29.
