Strong demand in South America has prompted Arla Foods Ingredients to move its subsidiary in the region to bigger facilities, located in Argentina.

The ingredients arm of Arla Foods said that it hopes to cash in on the “booming” economies of Latin America and is targeting growth in Argentina, Brazil and Chile in particular.

Arla Foods Ingredients said on Friday (25 February) that the new office and application centre, located 25km outside Buenos Aires, will provide the business with “space to grow”. The site is equipped with advanced pilot plants for testing functional milk proteins in yogurt, ice cream, cream cheese and soup, Arla said.

“The business has grown considerably over the last eight years, and customers visit our application centre regularly. We had simply outgrown our old facilities,” Bjarne Schack Pedersen, managing director of Arla Foods Ingredients, said.
