General Mills has cut almost 40 jobs from a Pillsbury plant in the Canadian province of Ontario.

The US food giant yesterday (25 July) confirmed that it had restructured the facility in the town of Midland. The changes, it said, would lead to the loss of 38 jobs.

“This move aligns our workforce to better reflect business needs and enables our Midland facility to stay competitive in the current operating environment,” the company said.

A spokesperson declined to comment further on the specific trading conditions affecting the plant, which makes refrigerated and frozen dough products.
