Nestle has today (10 November) announced that it has started building its first factory in Angola.
The factory, located in the capital of Luanda, will be used for packing and repacking products such as Nildo milk powder and Nescafé coffee. The CHF10m (US$11m) facility is expected to create 30 jobs and will start operations in September.

Nestle’s vice president of Asia Oceania, and Africa, Roger Stettler said Angola is important for the company because “it is an emerging market with a strong, growing economy”.
“We see a lot of possibilities here and would like to partner the government and the people of Angola in this journey of growth,” he added.
Nestle said the new factory is part of a three-year investment programme the company launched in equatorial Africa last year. It is the first stage in the construction of a larger Nestle factory on the same site.
The company plans to build a manufacturing unit where it will be able to produce dairy, coffee and beverage products in Angola for the first time. Nestle Angola sells brands including Cerelac, Nido, Nesquik, Nescafé, Maggi, and Ricoffy, which it sources from its factories in other countries.
