The Lepel Tinned Milk Factory said it plans to triple its supplies to Venezuela in 2010.
The Belarus-based company said on Wednesday (10 March) that it will ship 4,500 tonnes of milk powder worth BYR47.5bn (US$16.1m) this year compared to the 1,500 tonnes it exported to Venezuela last year.

With larger exports to Venezuela, the company said it will reduce the dependency of its export on Russia. The latter accounted for 52.2% of the company’s exports in 2009. This year, Russia’s share is expected to go down to 25-30%, the firm said.
In January, Lepel Tinned Milk Factory turned out BYR10.2bn worth of products, 115.7% up on January 2009. The sales profitability totaled 5.3%. The company reduced energy consumption by 14.9% while the target was set at 13.5%.
Lepel Tinned Milk Factory was founded in 1951. It was incorporated as a joint-stock company in 1998. The company includes the agricultural enterprise Zaozerye, the Tolochin creamery, the Dokshitsy and Beshekovichi dairy factories.
The company specialises in whole milk products, skimmed milk powder, cheeses and ice cream.
