French retailer Casino has acquired a further 6% of Dutch grocer Super de Boer from Amber Fund.
The EUR30m deal allows Casino to increase its stake in Super de Boer to 57%.
In January, Casino raised its share capital from 45% to 51% to take majority control of Super De Boer.
Super de Boer, the Netherlands’s number two food retailer, reported 2007 sales of EUR2.1bn (US$3.1bn).
In the last 18 months, Super de Boer has undergone something of an overhaul, selling its Edah and Konmar stores, consolidating its distribution network and cutting head office jobs.
