Unilever has launched a campaign to promote cooking in schools through flagship spreads brand Flora.
The GBP9m (US$17.8m) push will allow consumers to collect tokens that primary schools can redeem for free cooking equipment to encourage children to learn about the importance of a healthy diet.
“Through this initiative, we will provide millions of pounds worth of resources to primary schools to help promote health in education,” a Flora spokesperson told just-food.
As part of the push, a new Flora mascot – Seeds – has been created to help educate children about the importance of a healthy diet, hygiene and learning to cook.
The Cooking with Schools campaign runs from this month until October. Promotional codes can be found on selected Flora packs.
