The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has found Campbell Soup’s Prego pasta sauce lacking in advertised vitamin content.

Packaging on Prego Three Cheese Pasta Sauce advertised that the sauce contained 25% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C. However, lab tests carried out by the FDA revealed the sauces provided between 5.47% and 8.33% of the recommended daily intake.

The agency sent Campbell Soup a letter ordering the company to rectify the problem. The company has already responded, promising to change the packaging by the end of May.
