Global food behemoth Nestlé is reportedly engaged in talks with New South Wales-based Dairy Farmers over the possibility of an alliance in the companies’ Australian yoghurt businesses.
Nestlé purchased the Ski yoghurt business from its British owner, Northern Foods, last month. The brand is made in Australia under licence by Dairy Farmers.
An alliance, which could take the form of a joint venture, would enable the two food giants to garner a large chunk of the A$500m (US$250m) chilled dairy sector in Australia.
