Irish retailer Spar Ireland has launched its new €5m (US$6.2m) flagship store in Dublin, marking the first of Spar’s new format stores.
BWG Foods, which owns the Spar franchise in Ireland, decided to launch a new generation of Spar stores following an extensive review of the chain’s retail offering. The three-year strategy coincides with the company’s fortieth anniversary in Ireland, reported the Irish Independent.
The new store, which will employ 50 people, lifts the number of Spar stores in Ireland to more than 400.
