UK dairy farmer cooperative First Milk is seeking additional supplies of raw milk as it looks to increase sales into premium channels and drive bottom line growth, the company said today (3 December).

First Milk has launched a recruitment campaign in England and Wales to secure milk for its creameries and the liquid market.

“The main driver is our ability to sell milk into premium markets,” a spokesperson for First Milk told just-food.

“We believe that if we can secure raw milk supplies we can either process it in our creameries or sell it into the liquid milk market… and therefore increase our bottom line.”

First Milk supplies liquid milk to a number of UK dairies, including Robert Wiseman and Dairy Crest.
