UK food group Northern Foods has signed a deal with British Airways to supply in-flight meals for the airline.
The partnership with DHL, who will manage the logistics, takes over from Gate Gourmet on the London Heathrow short haul in-flight catering.
Three years ago, BA had to cancel flights when a dispute at Gate Gourmet meant there were no in-flight meals for passengers.
The ten-year contract will begin in April 2010.
“We are certainly looking forward to the new business and this will help us to diversify into new channels to complement our products, which sell through retailers,” a spokesperson told just-food today (5 December).
