Claims that garlic can be beneficial in lowering the risk of heart disease remain no more than claims, according to a study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.


Researchers tracked clinical indicators of heart disease in 90 overweight smokers to ascertain their response to four treatments. They found no “significant differences” between results in the garlic group and the placebo group.
