Spanish food group SOS Corporación Alimentaria has shaken up its management structure and appointed consultants Accenture to help drive efficiency throughout the business.
The maker of Bertolli and Carbonell olive oils has divided its business into four regions, each with their own chief who will report to group boss Jose Manuel Muriel.
Juan José Landázuri, who joined SOS from Kraft Foods in November and became Iberia sales director, has been named the company’s general director in Spain.
Former Kraft and Unilever executive Maccari Fabio has been appointed to head SOS’s operations in southern Europe, which accounts for a third of group turnover. Fabio joined the group in 2005.
Meanwhile, SOS has created a business unit for western Europe, which includes EU member states apart from Spain and Italy. Ex-Heineken executive Christiaan German Hintze will lead that unit.

The company, which booked a half-year loss of almost EUR62m (US$88.2m) on Monday (31 August), is working with Accenture to “improve efficiency and productivity”.
SOS added that further details of its financial restructuring will be published “within the next few weeks” by adviser Credit Suisse.
