Dutch retailer Ahold is reducing the selling space of some of its largest hypermarkets in the Czech Republic.
Eleven of the 56 hypermarkets operated by Ahold will have their selling space reduced from a total of 8,000 – 10,000 square metres to merely 5,000 square metres.
The changes will mainly impact the number of non-food products on sale. Ahold has indicated that the move is part of its aim to sharpen its focus on food.
