Belgian baker Pidy has named a UK sales director in an attempt to grow its gourmet products in the country.
John Savege, who has held roles at McCain, Grampian and Dawnfresh Seafoods in his 40-year food industry career, joined Pidy from pastry firm Brittons of Devon.
“Pidy has a great opportunity to develop more business in the UK,” said Savege. “The quality and breadth of the range are, I believe, unique. We have a first-class development team in Belgium who are currently working with several UK customers to develop new and innovative pastry case lines – including some really unusual recipes for the ethnic foods market.”
