Bulgarian officials have revealed that a new veterinary medical centre will become operational on the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, on the Bulgarian-Turkish border on 12 November 2002.
The centre will be designed to issue the necessary certification for all Asian meat and animal product imports, and this certification will be valid for all European Union (EU) countries.
Border control experts told local newspaper Dnevnik that construction of the new centre will start in March 2002. It will be funded by the EU’s PHARE programme.
