Procter & Gamble is considering cutting between 10 and 20% of its 110,000-staff global work force, the online edition of the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

The paper said an internal company task force was examining Procter & Gamble’s operating costs, looking for structural changes as well as head-count reductions. The consumer products group has not commented on the report, increasing speculation as to the motives behind the potential job losses.

Proctor & Gamble recently announced that it planned to cooperate with Coca Cola on its food and drink brands.
