Peachtree Network Inc. (CDNX:PCH), the leading innovator in online grocery and food-related services, today announced the launch of America’s first wireless Internet grocery shopping service. Residents of Manhattan can now shop for groceries online via Internet-enabled cellular phones. The launch is a cooperative effort between Peachtree Network and Jefferson Market, Peachtree’s grocery partner in New York City.
Using an Internet-enabled mobile phone, Peachtree-registered shoppers can complete their weekly grocery shopping in less than 10 minutes. The wireless online grocery service is a complement to the Peachtree Network online grocery service and gourmet features found at www.PeachtreeNetwork.com. The wireless store shares many popular features with its Web complement, including the “QuickList” shopping list of the customer’s most commonly purchased products, “6 o’clock Solutions” recipes, and the product search function. Customers are able to fill their shopping cart over time, interchangeably using a computer with Internet access and a WAP enabled-mobile device.
Jeremy Lee Jonas, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Peachtree Network, said, “At Peachtree Network, we are committed to being the innovation leader in online grocery services. Today we are providing our partnering grocers with the newest, most advanced ways to profitably grow their business. In August 1996, we were the first to launch a Web supermarket with a grocer, and now in August 2000 we have entered the wireless frontier with Jefferson Market.”
Jonas remarked on the symbolism of Jefferson Market, located on Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, offering America’s first wireless Internet grocery service. “When it comes to groceries, the wireless Superhighway begins at the Avenue of the Americas.”
The wireless service is scheduled to be available through 18 of Peachtree Network’s grocer partners by Labor Day. With 18 markets across the U.S. and Canada, Peachtree Network provides online grocery shopping services in more markets than any other company.
Consumers wishing to visit the world’s first wireless online grocery shopping site can also do so by visiting http://ptnet.ws with an Internet-enabled cellular phone.

ABOUT JEFFERSON MARKET
Jefferson Market began as a small storefront 60 years ago, and since then it has blossomed into a full-size, full-service general foods and specialty grocer. John Montouri, Sr. purchased Jefferson Market in 1965, and introduced an emphasis on high quality products and friendly customer service. When he passed away in 1985, his sons, Louis and John Jr. continued his tradition. The store carries everything from flour to exotic produce, but the prime meats department is legendary. Offering personalized service, Jefferson Market is one of the last places in Manhattan where you can be on a first-name basis with your grocer.
