From Thursday to Sunday this week, the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur will be hosting the Malaysian International Food and Beverages Fair.

There will be more than eighty exhibitors, from Malaysia and the rest of the world, who will be showcasing different food products, packaging and technology. Workshops are also planned on topics such as food safety, cooking and talks on health related issues.

Expecting the food sector to grow by 3.8% this year, the Agriculture Ministry of the Malaysian government has allocated RM300m for research and is endorsing the fair, which is otherwise supported by the Malaysian Frozen Foods Processors Association, the Islamic Committee of Thailand and Ifanca International America.
