Sweden-based pet-food supplier The Nutriment Company (TNC) has expanded into Spain by acquiring Puromenu, a raw pet-food producer.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In a statement, TNC said the acquisition is part of the company’s strategy to enter “strategic, high-growth regions”.
The deal is the third acquisition TNC has made so far in 2025.
Founded in 2014, Puromenu’s product range includes “gently cooked” fresh meats, raw patties, sausages, and various treats, chews, and supplements for dogs and cats.
With products made from “100% natural ingredients”, the Spanish pet-food maker also utilises vegetable ferments and probiotics to “improve” digestibility and palatability.

In a joint statement, Puromenu founders Magda Kayali and Raúl Zamorano said: “Joining forces with The Nutriment Company feels like a natural next step in our journey. TNC shares our vision for pet nutrition, and together we can strengthen our impact in the market and continue to push the boundaries of what pets deserve in their diet.”
Owned by Nordic private equity firm Axcel, the Stockholm-based company has a portfolio of brands including Nutriment, DIBO, Barfgold, and Natural Instinct among others.
Anders Kristiansen, the CEO of TNC, said: “Magda, Raúl and the team at Puromenu are a fantastic addition to The Nutriment Company. Already from our first conversation it was apparent that we think and act the same way and I am thus confident that we can together replicate TNC’s broader European success on the Iberian Peninsula.”
Last month, TNC expanded its operations in the UK by acquiring The Dog’s Butcher, a supplier of “premium” raw dog food and pet supplements maker Your Pet Nutrition.
