US dairy group Schreiber Foods has revealed plans to invest $211m at its cheese production plant in Carthage in Missouri.

Schreiber Foods, which is headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is known for producing cream cheese, natural cheese, processed cheese, yogurt, and beverages.

The project includes the construction of a new 168,000 ft2 production facility, which will be equipped with “state-of-the-art” technology.

This expansion is expected to create 150 new jobs.

In a statement, Schreiber Foods said the project will enhance its process-cheese capabilities in the US and support its “ongoing efforts” to partner with customers and meet “increasing demand”.

The construction of the new facility is set to begin in January, with Schreiber Foods planning to complete the project in 2027.
