Trinità Spa Industria Salumi has bought Galli Industria Salumi, a fellow producer of Italian cured meats.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal is Trinità’s eighth acquisition its majority shareholder Fondo Italiano d’Investimento said.
Fondo Italiano d’Investimento, which bought its stake in Trinità earlier this year, said the deal for Galli was aimed at bolstering the group’s standing as a “leading producer” of cured meats, particularly within the foodservice channel.
Galli, based in Modena, brings in sales of around €14m ($15.1m), the investor said.
Trinità, which primarily caters to the Italian market through its own brands and private label, is setting its sights on expanding into new European markets.
