Production Occupations drive robotics-related hiring activity
Production Occupations, with a share of 17%, emerged as the top robotics-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 36% quarter-on-quarter. Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 22% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent robotics roles include Architecture and Engineering Occupations with a 9% share in Q2 2024, Management Occupations with a 9% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 21% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Campbell Soup, Arcelik, Tyson Foods, iRobot, and Procter & Gamble. Together they accounted for a combined share of 21% of all robotics-related new jobs in the consumer industry.
Campbell Soup posted 50 robotics-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Arcelik 46 jobs, Tyson Foods 33 jobs, iRobot 32 jobs, and Procter & Gamble 26 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 58.57% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of robotics-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 58.57% followed by Turkey (5.33%) and France (4.09%). The share represented by the US was 21 percentage points higher than the 37.70% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
