Management Occupations drive corporate governance-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 17%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 3% quarter-on-quarter. Office and Administrative Support Occupations came in second with a share of 8% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 17% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent corporate governance roles include Business and Financial Operations Occupations with an 8% share in Q2 2024, Production Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 29% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Flowers Foods, Pernod Ricard, PepsiCo, Lamb Weston, and Arcelik. Together they accounted for a combined share of 29% of all corporate governance-related new jobs in the consumer industry.
Flowers Foods posted 671 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q2 2024, Pernod Ricard 641 jobs, PepsiCo 389 jobs, Lamb Weston 295 jobs, and Arcelik 206 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 48.33% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 48.33% followed by France (6.03%) and India (5.67%). The share represented by the US was 13 percentage points higher than the 35.40% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
