Canadian natural products retailer Planet Organic Health Corp has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Toronto health food store group Healthy’s Nutrition Centres.

Healthy Nutrition’s seven stores are located throughout the Toronto area and sell a complete range of health supplements and personal care products. The company has been operated for 15 years by brothers Ameen and Mirwan Ferris who are to continue to head up the existing stores and develop the Ontario market for Planet Organic.
“We are excited to have Healthy as part of our Planet Organic group; it gives us the opportunity to expand the Ontario market with an established chain of stores,” said Planet Organic’s vice-president, corporate development and chief financial officer Darren Krissie. “We have grown from one location to 60 including the Healthy’s chain in under five years. We have been consistent in choosing winning acquisitions which add value for our shareholders.”
No further details of the deal, which remains subject to final approval by the Toronto Stock Exchange, were disclosed.
