US food group Kellogg Company has added a new organic variant to its Keebler Toasteds range. Keebler Toasteds Organic Harvest Wheat crackers hit US stores nationwide in late-June.
Kellogg says the new bite-sized cracker has “a rich, slightly sweet wheat flavour that provides a tasty snack for consumers seeking an organic alternative to traditional crackers”. The new range meets US Department of Agriculture organic produce criteria, including certification of farming, production and handling methods, and contains no pesticides, artificial preservatives or artificial ingredients.
Toasteds Organic crackers can be eaten with spreads, dips, salads and cheeses, or on their own, and will sell for a suggested retail price of US$2.99 for a 6.75 ounce box.
“Kellogg Company constantly strives to understand changing consumer needs,” said Raj Joshi, senior director crackers marketing at Kellogg. “With the growing interest in organic products, we felt the time was right to provide this option for consumers.”
The addition of Toasteds Organic Harvest Wheat brings the number of varieties in the Keebler Toasteds line to five, with Toasteds Buttercrisp, Toasteds Onion, Toasteds Sesame and Toasteds Wheat the other four products in the range.
