US agribusiness giant Archer Daniels Midland has announced that it is carrying out substantial enhancements to its ADM-Joanes cocoa processing facility in Ilheus, Bahia, Brazil.
The improvements, due for completion in early 2005, will include plant process upgrades and product line expansion. The plant produces cocoa powder, liquor, butter and cake product lines for both Brazilian and international markets.
“With these improvements we are expanding our current product lines with new offerings such as premium powders,” said Mark Bemis, vice president, and president of ADM Cocoa.
