Low-fat yogurts with colour-matched fruit and vegetable combinations have been launched by Italian dairy processor Granarolo. Apple and spinach gets a green light for instance, while mango and pumpkin provides a splash of yellow and orange.
The range has been given a SIAL innovation award at the show. Other fruit and vegetable partnerships include pineapple and fennel (white); strawberry and tomato (red) as well as blueberry and carrot.
“We’ve got these products into Italian supermarkets and now we’re looking at export markets,” export salesman Robert Sudujko told just-food. The Yomo-branded yogurts are made by a subisidiary that Granarolo bought from administrators two years ago.
